    Building Relationships Through Hospitality
We are a family business that builds lasting rellationships with guests through hospitality and service. The inn is owned by Rob Gregor, his wife Nerisha and their three young children, Joseph, Maxwell and Eliza. In fact, it was the Gregors’ seven-year old son, Joseph, who discovered the inn one night while searching online with his dad for hotels for sale. Out of nowhwere, Joseph pointed to the screen and said “Daddy, how about that one?” Intrigued by Joseph’s interest in the family business, Rob gave the Stockade Inn a closer look and was instantly enamoured with the inn’s characater, detail and beauty. Six-months later, in May, 2019, the Gregors purchased the Stockade Inn with Joseph (now the ripe old age of eight years old) at the closing table to assist his father signing the documents. The Gregor family invites you to explore the Stockade Inn for your most special of days and promises an experience like no other. We will personally attend to every detail and make your special day as magical as possible.

The building that is now the Stockade Inn traces its roots back to 1662 when Arendt Van Curler, the founder of Schenectady, selected the site for his first home. Thereafter, in 1814, the present building was constructed and housed the Mohawk Bank, one of Schenectady’s first banks. In or around 1845, nearby Union College acquired the property for use as classrooms. In 1903, the building was purchased by the Mohawk Club, a Schenectady hunting club. During the 20th century, membership climbed dramatically with the rise of General Electric as a global conglomerate. However, as the 20th century came to a close, Mohawk Club membership declined and the building was sold to the McDonald family in 2003.
?The McDonald family transformed the private Mohawk Club into the Stockade Inn, Schenectady’s finest boutique hotel and wedding venue. With its 18 elegantly appointed guest rooms, each with private bath and modern amenities, its ornate and spacious function spaces for weddings, showers, parties and meetings and its bar and lounge featuring local craft beers, a diverse menu of seasonal cuisine and live local jazz every Thursday and Friday night, the Stockade Inn is Schenectady’s most intimate and most sought out venue. In 2019, the McDonald family sold the Stockade Inn to the Gregor family. ?Today, the Gregor’s operate the Stockade Inn as the McDonald’s did. It has always been, and will always be, an intimate affair founded upon the quality of the relationships forged between our family and our guests.
