The Treman Center is a unique elegant barn venue with Tuscan Italianate courtyards on the edge of one of the Finger Lakes most scenic parks, 10 minutes for downtown Ithaca, NY.
The 3 story barn was custom-designed and constructed from local stone and wood salvaged from an 1870?s hay barn. It is both vast and cozy with Tuscan courtyards, inspiring grounds and a fabulous stone cirlce with fire basket for a bonfire end of the night. There are many ways/places to stage your celebration throughout the property.
Facilities and Capacity
The center is yours for full use as a destination weekend from 9 am Friday morning until 2 pm Sunday afternoon. We have found that for couples with family and friends coming in from out of town, having a central gathering place to hold the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception and brunch is ideal. There is a one day /overnight option as well.
There are many ways to stage your event around our vast grounds, front terrace, tree-flanked alley and the 2 large main floors with fireplaces. The first floor is all stone, opening out onto the spacious Tuscan courtyards with water feature. The second floor has a fantastic dance floor with a Steinway piano, great sound and is perfect for a seated dinner for up to 125 folks.
There is a bridal bedroom suite on the third floor (not for large assembly) for the marital couple to stay in for the weekend, and a charming dressing area with theatre lights and mirrors for the bridesmaids to get ready with hair/makeup artists if desired.
We have a unique stretch tent from South Africa that floats over the field and seats up to #150. This is a must for seating over 120 people, but also provides additional staging options for rain or shine.
The building is sustainably built with air conditioning and heat on all three floors. There is a large stage in kitchen for caterers.
Services Offered
The Treman Center knows that professionals do everything best, which is why we provide each couple that books with us a packet with our preferred list of vendors from caterers, photgraphers, musicians/DJ’s, and hairdressers to housing options etc. We offer ceremonial ministry for all rites and pastoral duties if desired and the staff is available the length of your stay to support you and your guests with all aspects of the celebration experience. Parking is fully accessible with assistance and an onsite golf cart to transport guests around the property. Basic event planning is included in our services but we offer have preffered addtional event planners available if desired.
History
The barn was originally built in the 19th century but in 2007 is was purchased by Kevin Reilly, property owner, disassembled and moved in pieces to its current site. The Treman Center that emerged from the planks and beams is a three-story, 6,000-square-foot marvel. Kevin describes it as ?agricultural and playful,? authentically assembled with mortise and tenon, post and beam construction. At the same time, it is the epitome of green design, with high-technology electricity, radiant heat, and airtight strength and efficiency.
