Initially created as a logging camp in the early 1900’s. Home to some of the oldest trees on the mountain, this special place has survived modernization, fire and economic hardship, remaining relatively unchanged through the last century. “The Willow Woods area was a campground in the 1923-1927 period, with a fee of 50 cents per night. There were restrooms and a water faucet. There was one 16′ square war surplus tent for rent. In the late twenties, Lou and Grace Williams bought the lot and built three cabins for rent and a home for themselves on the highway. Over the years there have been a succession of owners, each one adding their own touch. It has been called Skyforest Resort, Shanty Town and now Willow Woods.” ~ From The Memories We are a group of Chefs, Gardners, Shop Keepers, Artists, Organizers, Teachers, Bakers, and Care Takers who share a common philosophy and love for our mountains and for Willow Woods and in a larger sense about the simplicity of life.
