Facilities and Capacity
This expansive zoo has numerous event spaces, with three in particular standing out for wedding parties. The Treetops Terrace can host up to 500 guests in large wedding parties. Its spacious ceiling hosts giant LED ornaments in a variety of themed shapes for extra atmosphere. The Rainforest Stilt House is a two-story venue offering an ideal open-air space for 40 to 90 guests. The Gazebos are centrally located in the zoo, offering covered picnic table-style seating for 40 to 80 guests. The zoo offers complimentary parking on most days with the option of shuttles. All zoo areas are wheelchair-accessible, except for The Aviary

Wedding events that can be held in The Los Angeles Zoo include engagement parties, bridal showers, receptions, and rehearsal dinners. The L.A. Zoo Lights package includes venue rental, tables, chairs, linens, sound, lighting, heaters, sound decibel monitoring, setup, cleanup, and an onsite event coordinator. Animal walkabouts with an animal ambassador and keeper are also available as a unique offering.

History
The Los Angeles Zoo opened on November 28, 1966, the result of a $6.6 million bond passed by the citizens of the city a decade earlier. A wide variety of animals could be accommodated with a new zoo in a more spacious location, now at over 1,400 animal residents. The zoo has seen many changes over the years with expansions, new exhibits, and improvements towards animal welfare.
