Originally a Roaring 20s casino and speakeasy, The Tudor House was built in 1928 by the infamous mobster Bugsy Siegel. After realizing that Lake Arrowhead was quickly becoming the escape for the Hollywood elite, Bugsy opened this exclusive members-only resort in 1929. At that time, the resort included luxury guest quarters (The Bracken Fern Manor still exists today), horse stables, an Olympic sized pool, tennis courts, a private gas station, an artisan well which was used for moonshine and most importantly – privacy. All at a rumored cost of over $1 million dollars.
This sprawling retreat in Arrowhead Villas has been completely restored to its original magnificence and is now a historic dining and wedding venue. The vaulted ceilings, great stone fireplace and raised stage give the room the perfect ambience. When you enter into the Grand Hall at The Tudor House, the room comes to life and you step into a bygone era.
