History
In 1939, Emily Harrison and Dr. Woolford Baker led a group of conservationists to establish Fernbank as a non-profit organization to preserve 65 acres of forest. The Fernbank Museum of Natural History was opened in 1992 on the border of the original forest. The Museum has ever since inspired people to learn about the natural world and offered enjoyable and memorable experiences to visitors.
