History
Woodbine Mansion has a long history of residential tradition in Round Rock, Texas. The Nelson family, composed of Andrew J. and Hedwig Nelson, settled in this location after moving to the Lone Star State from Sweden. They employed the talented local duo of the Page Brothers to build an elaborate, Victorian-style mansion. These siblings used innovative strategies involving salvaging building materials from other renovation projects in the Austin area. The home was fully realized in the year 1900 after a five-year construction period. In 1931 the mansion saw a remodel, transforming it with the nationally popular Greek Revival style. At that time, this aesthetic was a rarity in Round Rock. The Crier-Goodrich family bought the house at the beginning of the 1960s and officially changed the name of the mansion to Woodbine. There are many original 19th century furnishings that have been preserved, presenting a historic allure for visitors and guests. The mansion joined the ranks of Texas Historic Landmarks in 1973 and attained its newest inhabitants, Robert and Olga Levin, in 2018. Robert and Olga collaborate with their talented event-coordinating daughter, Becky Levin Navarro. With her, they curate fairy tale occasions for clients who choose to host at Woodbine Mansion time and time again.
