History This venue has had multiple uses over the years. In 1936, the venue, then called the Hall of Horticulture, was built for the Texas Centennial Exposition and included the Southwest?s first public conservatory. After the Texas Centennial Exposition, it became the Dallas Garden Center. In the following years, it functioned as the headquarters for the War Rationing Board during World War II, the Women?s Building during the State Fair of Texas and the host of the first live butterfly immersion exhibit in North Texas. It obtained its current name in 2000 and was designated the first Certified Organic Public Garden in Texas in 2003. Today, it?s not only a gorgeous place to celebrate nature and sustainability but also a great place to celebrate your love and commitment to your partner on your big day.
