When son Jim returned from WWII, he added an addition to the building that would arguably become the hottest spot in the country for Jazz during the 1940s featuring greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Louie Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, Nat King Cole, Lionel Hampton, Buddy Rich, and Tony Bennett. Into the 1960s, Club 86 transitioned from a nightclub to a party house. Today, a fourth generation of the Legott family runs the wedding and event venue.
