Historic Seven Sycamores Ranch was the original namesake of the McKellar?s citrus farm back in 1927. On this ranch, Hugh and Vernice McKellar built a home and raised their family. Under the new name of McKellar Ranch, their son, and our current owner, Farmer Bob McKellar, still farms the same citrus orchards that his father Hugh planted years and years ago.
It was in 2007 when Bob spoke his wedding vows in the backyard of his childhood home that the name Historic Seven Sycamore Ranch took on a whole new meaning.
Many of our couples, their friends, and families travel from out of town, sometimes out of state or country, to visit our home. We?ve created this virtual venue tour in hopes that we might share the experience of our venue with friends both near and far.
    THE GARDEN
Our first wedding in The Garden was hosted in 2007 when our owner Bob and his wife Ann celebrated their marriage promises to one another. Since then, many others have spoken their own vows under the same white pergola.
The Garden is our outdoor venue that can accommodate up to 350 guests for a wedding ceremony and reception. With options galore on how to set your wedding layout, not one wedding in The Garden has looked the same. Depending on the estimated guest count, ceremonies can be set in the shade of the Barn Pavillon, in front of the barn doors as a backdrop or on the West Lawn in front of the vine-covered wall.
The natural Vine Arbor can host cocktail hours, bar lounges and buffet lines, but can also double as a more romantic dance floor. Photographers and Videographers alike rave over the string lighting that glows over the reception seating, and each claim that it is the most perfect lighting for their work
Reception is most often hosted on the open lawn in front of the Barn. Here guests dine and dance under a canopy of string lighting. With plenty of room for even the craziest relatives to show off their moves, The Barn Pavilion is a multipurpose space that transitions to become the dancefloor later in the evening. The Garden also features a fire pit lounge area and a Gazebo where we often see couples cut into their wedding cake!
    THE GLASS BARN
From a citrus packing house ? to a workshop ? to a wedding venue. As the original packing house for the McKellar?s orchard back in the 50?s, our venue in The Glass Barn was converted to host weddings in the Spring of 2013. Many couples have spoken their wedding vows on the patio of The Glass Barn with snowcapped Sierra Nevada Mountains as their backdrop. Inside they have celebrated with their closest friends and family surrounded by the antiqued windowed walls. Built from quite a history, even the vintage windows came from one of the original schoolhouses in Visalia.
The Glass Barn is our both indoor and outdoor venue that can accommodate 160 guests for ceremony and reception. For a reception only wedding, we can comfortably seat 200 guests inside. For couples that choose to reserve both of our venues, we have also hosted up to 300 guests seated inside for a wedding ceremony only.
With a built-in bar for serving your signature cocktails and an outdoor fire pit lounge area to enjoy with your guests, the Glass Barn truly has it all. String lighting stretches across the outdoor patio and along the ceiling indoors giving off the most romantic glow in the evening. The cedar walls of the venue give off a welcoming aroma that feels like home.
We are thrilled to announce that the Glass Barn will be getting built-in AC & Heating in Summer 2019. This update will make Historic Seven Sycamores one of the ONLY wedding & event spaces in the Central Valley able to host weddings and events year round. More updates and announcements on this to come, but we are excited to offer all of our upcoming couples a comfortable venue to host their guests in the midst of what can be a scorching Valley heat.
    THE BRIDAL SUITE
Our Bridal Suite has been designed as a space of luxury and relaxation where our brides can be pampered on the morning of their wedding day. A large open space in the center of the room and plenty of comfortable seating allows for all of the ladies to spend time getting ready together.
For added privacy, we?ve included a separated dressing room with a full-length mirror where a bride can step into her gown. The Bridal Suite also features a full bathroom and mini kitchenette to store the bubbly for morning Mimosas. This space may also double as a grooms lounge when Hummingbird Cottage has been reserved as a dressing space for the ladies instead.
    HUMMINGBIRD COTTAGE
Hummingbird cottage was the original residence of the McKellar family back in the 1940?s. Inside of the walls of this same home our owner, Bob took his first steps as a boy and ran through the hallway playing with his younger sister Noreen.
Named after their mother?s favorite bird, Hummingbird Cottage is now offered as an additional rental for Day Usage or Overnight Reservations. It is a three bedroom, two bath home with spacious living areas that can sleep up to twelve guests. The kitchen comes fully stocked, allowing for meals to be served and enjoyed during a stay.
Many of our brides and their bridesmaids have stayed the night before their wedding at the cottage ? their last sleepover with their girlfriends as a single lady. That next morning, they are able to sleep in, wake up on the property, enjoy a nice brunch and mimosas while getting ready for their wedding!
    TREE LANE
Tree Lane is a popular destination for a couple?s intimate first look and portraits or full bridal party photos. The mature Poplar trees lining the driveway are a beautiful frame for photos in all seasons.
    ENDLESS PHOTO LOCATIONS
There are quite literally endless opportunities for photography on our property. We are constantly amazed that after over ten years of hosting weddings, we still see photos and video that we haven?t seen before! Outside of each venue, here are some of the more commonly used areas to capture the memories of the big day.
