History
The story of the winery goes all the way back to 1912. Coming from Hamburg in Germany, Hans and Marie Fahden bought the property and transformed it into a vineyard. Throughout the years of Prohibition, they grew prunes and walnuts, keeping up with agricultural traditions. Their grandsons eventually turned back to their grape-growing roots and began growing produce for wine again. The first bottle of wine was crafted in 1987 and since the 90s they have hosted wine tastings on a regular basis.
Location
The vineyard is surrounded by the grandeur of nature. It is on the border between Napa and Sonoma County and the property features forests of Douglas Fir in addition to its gardens and ponds. The petite city of Calistoga, where this vineyard is located, is known for its wineries as well as hot springs and mud baths.
